NYC Subway Track Maps

[NYC Transit System Logo] By Peter Dougherty (about) (contact)
All maps on this page maintained and Copyright © 1996, 2001 by Peter Dougherty. Maps updated 2007 by Matthew Shull.

This is a collection of New York City Subway track maps. These maps were based on printed versions circa 1967, and have been updated to represent the subway as it exists today. Please send updates, corrections, and praise to the above address.

PLEASE NOTE: These are not route maps, showing the logical routings of the passenger trains. This is a collection of track maps, showing the physical tracks making up the subway system. The colors and route indicators on the track maps are provided to help the viewer figure out what's what, and are based on the service patterns in the late 1990s. (It's not likely the track maps will be updated with new colors just to reflect new train routings over the existing tracks.) If you're looking for an up to date route map, or some historical maps, follow the links.

NOW AVAILABLE! By popular demand, our track maps are now available in book format. The wire-bound book will include all of the track maps, plus track designations, signal information, and more, not shown on the web versions. Follow me for more information.
